MICROCHIPPING

Every year, thousands of pets go missing, and may never recovered by their rightful owners. Most families provide their pets with a collar and identification tags, which are great ( and necessary) steps in ensuring their safety. However, collars and tags can be lost or removed, or even damaged beyond readability. The best way to protect your pet and ensure they are returned home is by using a form of identification that cannot be removed and is unique to both of you.

Microchipping can be done at any age, and does not require any anesthetics. The chip itself is the size of a grain of rice, and is placed between the shoulder blades. The chip will be virtually undetectable by you or your pet, so there is no need to be concerned about discomfort. After implantation, you will be provided with your pet's unique identification number as well as registration paperwork. Registration is done through the microchip company and it only takes a couple of minutes to complete. After you register your information with the ID number, the information is added to the national database. All animal shelters, veterinary hospital, and animal control offices have a scanner that can be used to detect the microchip information, and track you to your furry friend.
