DENTAL CARE

Often overlooked, proper dental health is a very important part of maintaining a pet's quality of life. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats show signs of oral disease by age 3. Without proper care, severe periodontal disease can lead to changes in numerous organs, bad breath, broken or loose teeth, discolored teeth, and abnormal/excessive drooling.

Checking the condition of your pet's teeth and gums is a routine part of every exam. Upon examination, if periodontal disease is noted, then the doctor will address what type of action needs to be taken. This is just another reason why scheduling regular visits with your veterinarian is essential to your animal's overall health!
