BLOOD SCREENING AND IN-HOUSE LAB TESTING

Blood Screening

Underlying medical conditions can often go unnoticed by pet owners, as many animals do not show clinical signs until these conditions have progressed to serious, or even life-threatening stages. This is why having the capability to preform diagnostic lab panels and other blood tests onsite gives us an advantage in detecting and treating these diseases. Some of the most common blood tests that doctors prescribe include:

- Complete Blood Count (CBC): This takes a sample of whole blood, and can show signs of anemia, infection, and other abnormalities.

- Blood Chemistry Profiles: These profiles are particularly important for checking your pet's organ function (e.g., liver, kidneys), electrolytes, blood sugar, etc. These types of screenings can be key to early detection of many diseases.

-Heartworm Testing: Being in the heart of Texas, it is important to test annually for heartworm disease. Heartworms are transmitted by mosquitos year-round and pose a life-threatening risk to your pet

Other In-House Lab Testing

-Not all diagnostic tests include blood. There are many other types of testing that help us to keep your pet healthy. At our veterinary clinic we can run a variety of tests during your visit, including urine and fecal testing, ear and skin cytology and more!
